The ICT sector is currently responsible for 2% of global CO2-emissions. Because Cegeka wants to help reduce CO2-emissions, we opt for green ICT solutions.
But that’s not all.
Our new offices and company vehicles are also ecologically responsible.
The workplace of the future is green.
We are aiming to drastically reduce energy consumption in server parks through the use of virtualisation and ‘shared infrastructures’. We believe that thin clients are the affordable and robust alternative to energy-sapping PCs. The ‘intelligent workplace’ is clearly a new, user-friendly, site-independent and, where possible, paper-free environment for professional users.
Cegeka Office: passive building
The brand-new Cegeka office building is a showpiece for energy-efficiency. The balanced choice of materials and technologies make the Cegeka offices a passive building. This means that it has a pleasant interior climate all year round, without using classic heating or cooling systems. We opted for thermally active concrete core technology. The water pipes are embedded in concrete. Using the heat-accumulating capacity of this concrete enables us to heat up and cool down our offices using water at a very low temperature. 19°C to cool down and 26°C to heat up. It is 60°C with traditional heating.
Cegeka Green Company Vehicles
Cegeka has also chosen to stop using CO2-unfriendly company vehicles. We want to do our bit here too.
