The consolidation trend in the ICT market is both an opportunity and a risk. To stay in control of the
business levels, major local enterprises (e.g. banks) cut down on the number of suppliers of posting services and select one ‘preferred supplier’.
In the financial sector, Cegeka has gained that status of ‘preferred supplier’.



Application development

On the Belgian market, Cegeka holds an historical strong position in the development of applications.
The initial mainframe development was gradually completed with expertise in Java, Progress, DB2,
Delphi, etcet.
In accordance with the growing importance of the integration of applications, Cegeka invested in the extension of the expertise of its personnel and in the temporary engagement of expert knowledge.


Infrastructure management

Cegeka’s customers are mainly in demand of abilities to manage their IT infrastructure.
Windows, Solaris, Unix en Linux are the operation systems supported by Cegeka.
Cegeka’s activities in this field cover system monitoring, system management, consolidation, etcet.
In the network field - another important activity domain - Cegeka personnel takes care of the management of LANs, WANs, VPN environments, etcet.


Technical support

In Belgium, Cegeka is one of the few suppliers that offer a personalized technical support.
The expertise of our staff is based on their technical education (master or bachelor) or their experience, completed by a diversity of languages. Cegeka often calls in native speakers to be able to offer a high quality support to our customers. In the historical perspective, this activity has known a huge growth, partly due to the outsourcing strategy of multinationals.
Compared to the competition, Cegeka’s staff turnover is very low, mainly thanks to the fact that we offer long-term assignments and an attractive package of additional benefits.


 

Onsite-support

We at Cegeka are convinced that on-site support is one of the core activities that can hardly be transferred to offshore or nearshore locations. For a number of customers, Cegeka already provides a limited
onsite-support. At the moment, we make a complete market study to gain a better insight in the demands of our customers, to develop the appropriate business model and to evaluate the efforts that are required to become an important player on the Belgian market.
